Gastrostomy tube is usually used for patients with advanced esophageal cancer. Doctors do not remove the cancer, but only leave a tube in the abdomen.
The purpose of the gastrostomy tube is to provide a long-term enteral nutrition for patients who have normal stomach function but cannot eat food. This treatment is relatively simple and safe and economical.
